But the car is packed all ready for Bob to move me into the new suite in about 10 minutes. The caravan is nearly habitable. The three pairs of linen trousers I bought from Monsoon to give me that “non hippy but non corporate” trainer look were all too big, so dashed out and swapped them for a smaller size. Still large by many peoples standards, but I was pleased :-) And a last minute booking has rendered the course extremely profitable :-) . So, off to move in, then do things like bath, face pack and meditation ;-)

Hannah has been selected to represent the under 13 group in the County Sports next weekend. Shot putting. Not bad for a kid that’s done it all off her own bat. I’m so pleased for her. Its next weekend, and she is travelling on the team bus, but Bob and I will go in the car so we can cheer her on.  Her sprinting is good as well, but not at a competitive level yet. The coach has been focussing on throwing things: shot putt, javelin and discus, and at the moment she is really excelling at them. She still has her eye on the 2014 Commonwealth Games (she’s promised her paed a free ticket, lol), and I think she fancied a more glamorous sport, but has decided if this is the one that gets her in, then that’s good enough for her. :-)

Hannah has been a total and absolute star this last week. I’ve been on the point of chewing my fingers to my elbow on more than one occasion and she’s made endless cups of tea, fielded phone calls “Ms C is in a meeting atm”, lol, made sandwiches, walked and trained the dog, collated endless manuals after I knocked a pile off the table and they all burst open, (cue me bursting into noisy tears!) and just generally been wonderful, thoughtful and kind.

So the deed is done, the contract is signed, and I start my first course here on Saturday. It was a very late contender, coming into the running just before I signed the lease on the place I’ve been negotiating on for weeks, and then concluded within 48 hours. For various reasons, I just knew it was right the moment I saw it. I went from feeling vaguely uneasy about signing for the other place, to totally relaxed within minutes of stepping in the door.

So all I need to do is pull together a training course I’m running for work over the next two days, and then spend Friday delivering my training gear, and doing nice things like buying sunflowers  – my training anchor – and then start :-) Its been a long time in the planning and execution, all I now need to do is manifest lots of clients pouring in the door ;-)

I’ve promised Hannah that as soon as this weekend is over, we’ll go off in the caravan for a couple of days – something that will become rather easier when its emptied of all the flipcharts, projectors, training chairs etc etc etc. Happy days :-)

Reassured myself I’m not actually a “dog person” 6 May 2008

After a fairly challenging couple of weeks with Maisie, when she has been a bit (very) unwell, coupled with some unseemly wrangling with the breeder, I was worried I was becoming a tad dog obsessed. However, today I took her to the canine equivalent of a new baby group, and I have to say I suddenly realised that while I liked *my* dog, I did find most of the others rather unappealing. Rather like babies, actually. I kept being licked by an German Shepherd, who would first of all give his willy a good seeing too, and THEN lick my hand. And I smiled grimly throughout ;-) Hannah went as far as to say that she wondered if the other owners were embarrassed by their dogs lol, when Maisie was clearly the nicest. Today we’ve had tail wagging, the first since we got her, so much jubilation. She also swam in the sea with Hannah and Jenny, and while her hearing is possibly damaged, she is certainly hearing a dog whistle, and oddly enough, a baby crying. Which proves my theory that a crying baby pierces one’s psyche in the same way a whistle does.

Weather has been great, and yesterday we again enjoyed the novelty of Bob having a public holiday off – though we did do a very suburban thing, in that we pressure washed the patio.

Hannah has been working away with maths and science mainly, and is reading Little Women. Her keyboard is also coming along well, and she is asking about doing her grade 1 exam. Which is probably nothing to anyone who can *do* music, but certainly impressed tone deaf me. Especially as the motivation for it is all hers.

She has saved all her MOTB money (granny came up with the last £10 on Saturday), so she is now gettingpound signs in her eyes at the thought of being able to spend money again. I’m really proud of her – she has saved well over £300 by saving her pocket money, and doing the ironing every week for months. I rather hope she decides it would be good to keep on earning :-)

All going well, I will sign my lease on Friday. Gulp. With the first course running the following weekend. Very scary. Very exciting.

The only thing that gets in the way of life really is my insomnia, back with a vengeance, and I’m knackered.

I want to make cds of seminars etc I run, not necessarily to sell, but as a marketing tool.  Of course getting this done professionally is WAY out of budget. So they I thought about a digital dictation machine. Would it be capable of recording at a reasonable quality? And then is it possible to get it on a CDRW? And THEN are these cds repalyable by people who may only have a bog standard cd player, or would it be in a file format that wouldn’t be accessible?  Any advice re processes or products?
